Formally now, I am announcing my Window of Opportunity Sale. From now until 11:59pm Saturday, I'm offering two of my sculptures for 25% less than listed. Transaction must be complete by the deadline. See pics/info/prices below. Don't stop, don't think, just do. More pics and info here. I've been working pretty much straight for the last half a year and the funds will turn a great vacation into an awesome one. You have 5 days. Then they enter my "retirement fund". ;)

Posting a Reddit AMA today

I made a comment on Reddit under my old username "Zingiber" a few years back, and additional posts were requested of me.  I've got enough figured out now that it's about time I followed through with that. I'll be posting an AMA (e.g. Ask Me Anything) today.  [LINK]

Pieced Together

It's rare for a piece to leave my hands without some good pictures for my archive, but this one managed to escape the full monty.  I  found various close-up photos and a video, but that's it.  Here's a collage of those photos, the "whole" picture of my wasp sword.

One of the nicest things anyone has ever said about me.

From Shelah Wind: In my humble opinion Gingerela Glass is one of the most talented glass artists period. She is constantly pushing her limits INNOVATING. No one will ever know what she will pull out next. You are not going to go to a glass competition and be able to call what she will be making. Keeping it fresh. Much love honey congrats you are big time! Everybody else watch out!!! Thank you, Shelah.  This is the kind of stuff that keeps this horse kicking.

Small Space IKEA Hack: Milk Crate Ottoman/Chair & Instant Dining Table

Talk to any glassblower in my industry and you'll hear all sorts of ingenious DIY stories from camera tripod torch stands to skateboard wheel bench rollers and beyond.  This kind of mindset lends itself well to the creativity required when living in a small home.  Since our house doesn't have a dining room, I've been trying to figure out how to maximize the space and make our tiny living room play double duty.  This was the (incredibly cheap!) solution: This little setup fits our living room comfortably despite the size of the room (12x12).  It helps to have one of those coffee tables...

Nominated for Best Female Artist of the Year, Holy Nutballs!

[EYE CANDY AFTER THE JUMP] So the functional glass industry holds an award ceremony each year to recognize outstanding artists. Think of it as the Oscars of pipes. I heard a whisper in the grapevine that I might be nominated for the "Up and Coming" category, but never imagined I'd end up on one of the big hitter ballots! First reaction: omg wtf bbq are you kidding me? FLOORED. Voting takes place on the American Glassblowers Expo website here. Here are some key highlights from my works this past year:
